PROGRAM DHARA
Urban slums often face numerous challenges, including poverty, overcrowding, lack of access to healthcare, and limited mental health resources. Program Dhara seeks to create a safe, supportive, and culturally sensitive environment to promote mental well-being and enhance the overall quality of life for individuals living in the slum area. Dhara means constant flow and our aim is to create community mental health workers in marginalised communities around India so that these families have constant access to mental healthcare. Through community outreach, counselling and therapy sessions, psycho-education workshops, capacity building initiatives and more, we are able to transform marginalised communities. Program Dhara exists to provide a safe physical space with resources to immediately provide psychological first aid, family therapy, group sessions and individual sessions for at-risk youth through a stringent referral system.
